Here is a picture I got from here.
It shows the Egyptian goddess Tawaret compared with the four toed statue on Lost Island. See the resemblance? Not only that but Tawaret was a goddess who protected women during pregnancy and childbirth. Seems like the ancients might have had fertility problems on the island as well as its current inhabitants. TLE

Hmmm, that was interesting. Looks like. Somethings will always remain mystery.
I myself has been trying to solve the mystery of the legend that forces you to have “earn it before having it”, for a wile now. Could not understand much though.
